ZWARF was created using Cycling 74's Max and MSP.

ZWARF is a kind of effects processor for live use, chaining one mono-looper, a VST host and a second stereo-looper + user presets

Assignable MIDI ctrl and prgr changes to control the loopers and presets.

Be sure that the VST plugins you'd like to use are in the VstPlugIns folder before starting ZWARF. Also be sure to place any ASIO driver files in the ASIO Drivers folder.

The Loopers:

Commands and controls with the Mac keyboard:

- the L key toggle the commands between the mono looper and the stereo looper.(or simply click on the choosen looper)

- Rec/overdub: left arrow key

-Play : down arrow key

-Stop: right arrow key

- Reset up arrow key

!!! before recording another loop you must reset the looper (up arrow key)!!!

maximum default record time is 60 sec.for each looper, with more RAM you can choose 120 or 180 sec in the control setup window

Open the looper window to edit the size, to change the playing direction and speed, or scroll inside the loop...

VST Host:

- Load the plug-in with the menu

- click on the ON/OFF button

- select a VST preset with the preset menu

- click on "OPEN" to edit the effect

- adjust effect volume to VST 3(blue) and/or effect volume to mix(green)

Preset Box:

- to save a zwarf preset shift click in a square

-to recall a zwarf preset click in a square

to save all the contents of the presets box:

- click on write zwarfpresets (default zwarf presets file) before quitting the application

- OR write/read to save/load all your zwarf presets in your own named file

MIDI CONTROL SETUP

CONTROL SETUP open the control config.window

GREEN SECTION

Control with MIDI ctrl #

- 1) click on a square to learn the ctrl #

- 2) send a control data

- repeat the operation for the next control, etc...

RED SECTION

"single ctrl setup"

If you only own one single ctrl (f.ex. a sustain pedal), you can use the "single ctrl setup"

- 1) click on the square to learn the ctrl #

- 2) send a control data

the pedal toggle betweem REC/PLAY/OVERDUB/PLAY/OVERDUB/etc...

to stop the loop use the MAC Keyboard right arrow key

to reset the looper use the MAC Keyboard up arrow key

the same ctrl can be used to chain presets of the "presets box" .

min/max to set the loop points of the chain.

"Rec/Play - CHAIN" button toggle the ctrl between the looper & the chain.

ORANGE SECTION

control the looper with MIDI prgr change #

- 1) choose "prgr change to looper ctrl"

- 2) click on a square to learn the prgr#

- 3) send a prgr cnange

- repeat the operation for the next control, etc...

- choosing "prgr change to VST presets" disable the looper commands and send the prgr# to the presets box

CLICK ON "write controllersetup" TO SAVE YOUR SET UP !!
